Gheldere Swings Toros to 9-3 Win
The Tucson Toros pinned a convincing loss on the Phoenix Thunderbirds, 9-3, at Legednary Park. Martyn Gheldere was a main factor in the win. He went 4-5 with a home run, a triple, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for Tucson. Miguel Moquete, the winner, goes to 7-8. He allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts over 7 innings. The losses continue to mount for Phoenix, which has now dropped 11 in a row.

Tucson used a clutch at-bat from Matt Linkous to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Toros ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
