Dragons Need Extra Frames to Get Past Arrows
|
Alex Guilzar left his imprint on the 5-3 Portland win against the Seattle Arrows. Guilzar, who is tied for 10th in the WC in runs scored with 82, went 2-4 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Justin Kurth, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-6. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.1 innings. Portland's record now stands at 67-69, placing them 4th in the Western Conference Paul Richardson Division.
Had Guilzar not come through in the top of the tenth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Guilzar drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Dragons took the lead, 4-3, and never looked back.
"Sometimes winning takes more than 27 outs," said Dragons manager Greg Carpenter.
