San Diego Rallies to 8-4 Win
|
The San Diego Destroyers took Denver pitcher Dryden Ice's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Mountain Dew Park. The final score had San Diego getting past the Glaciers, 8-4. Ice went 7 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 5. With the win, San Diego upped its record to 73-62.
San Diego needed the clutch hitting of Tom Sarmiento to seal the deal. The catcher swatted a grand slam home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Destroyers on top, 7-3. For the game, Sarmiento had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Solid performance from our side," said Destroyers manager Steve Alstadt.
