Wolves Lose to Aces, 5-1
|
Las Vegas Aces pitcher Carl Rodda was in fine form, leading his team past the Vancouver Wolves, 5-1. Earning his 11th save for Las Vegas was O-min Che. Their 69-65 record puts the Aces third in the Western Conference Rafael Mena Division.
The Wolves had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Aces going into the bottom of the third inning. That changed quickly when the 27-year old right fielder Danny Grass came to the plate. Grass hit a 2-run double on a full count cutter from Vancouver hurler Volk Miller. It was Grass's 19th double of the year.
"You score one run, you're not going to win," said Vancouver skipper Mr. Tadashi. "You can have three Koufaxes and three Drysdales, you're still not going to win."
