Chris Zamarron did all he could to help his team prevail. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Las Vegas Aces from losing the game, 7-6, to the Houston Aquas in 10 innings at Tesoro Stadium. Zamarron went 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Yasuhiro Katayama snagged the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits over 1.1 innings. He's now 4-4 on the season. Houston, at 84-50, is 12 games up in the Western Conference Felipe Solorzo Division.

The Aquas got a clutch hit from third baseman Steve Strong. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Aquas.

"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Strong said.
