Havana Metropolitanos starter Bobby Jaramillo turned in a top-notch performance against the Buffalo Rangers at Bison Stadium. The result was a win for the Metropolitanos, 2-1. Jaramillo, the winner, moves to 11-4. He threw 7 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 1 walk. Josh Trejo finished to wrap up his 38th save.
Homer Hanes, who is tied for 2nd in the EC in total bases with 256, had a direct impact on the outcome. Hanes contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Havana up, 2-0.
"We leaned on our pitching tonight," Hanes said.
Havana is now 76-57, 2½ games up in the Eastern Conference Benito Cossutta Division.
