Stars Take 11-2 Pounding
Phoenix starter Yeniet Miranda kept the Los Angeles offense in check, while his team rolled to a win, 11-2. Jason Mouland notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. His record now sits at 1-3. The Thunderbirds raised their record to 72-60.

The Stars had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Thunderbirds going into the bottom of the seventh inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old second baseman Bruce Gasca came to the plate. Gasca hit a 2-run double on a 1-0 forkball from Los Angeles hurler Jordan Oliva. It was Gasca's 12th double of the year.

"We'll need a much better effort, the next time out," said losing manager Pat Kaers.
