Titans Best Gaedels in Pitching Duel
|
The rain did not keep New York and St. Louis from finishing their game.
The New York Titans got a magnificent effort from pitcher Luis Erazo, who kept St. Louis hitters in check en route to a 1-0 Titans win at Veeck Park. Erazo yielded no runs over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 4, and struck out 5. His record improves to 9-8.
The biggest at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth. The score was 1-0, Titans. With a runner on 1st and two down, Ray Menk retired Evelio Vinent with a full count sinker. Vinent, the 30th overall pick in the 2074 draft, struck out.
St. Louis has now lost 5 straight.
