Spectres Prevail, 4-2, Over Toronto
|
The Philadelphia Spectres earned a win at Sony Field at Philadelphia, stopping the Toronto Juggernauts, 4-2. Starting pitcher Santos Lalin played a big role in his team's success. Picking up the save was 31-year old right-handed pitcher Franklin Lastre. At 69-62, the Spectres claim second place in the Eastern Conference Bill Oates Division.
Philadelphia center fielder Mel Bouza contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a changeup to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 20th hit of the season and put the Spectres ahead, 4-1.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Toronto skipper Marc Arnold, "and it cost us."
