Hurler Earl Starr gave the Denver Glaciers a solid start. The native of Baltimore, Maryland helped his team defeat the Houston Aquas, 3-2, at Tesoro Stadium. Starr picked up the win for Denver, going 8.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 14-5. Denver is now 70-61, Houston 82-49.
The Glaciers got a big at-bat from first baseman Chris Eighmy. For the game, Eighmy went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 35th home run of the season gave Denver a 2-1 lead.
