Kodiaks Deal Wolves 7-4 Loss
|
The Alaska Kodiaks overcame a pretty good performance by Vancouver left fielder Spencer Goldsmith, beating the Wolves, 7-4, at Fox-Chong Park. Goldsmith was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. John Rochford got the win, improving to 4-1. He worked 6 innings, giving up 3 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. Picking up the save was Andy Miao, his 23rd.
Alaska third baseman Yozo Mori contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 127th hit of the season and put the Kodiaks ahead, 5-1.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Mori said after the game.
Alaska sits in second place in the Western Conference Eric Wise Division at 75-57.
