Senators Suffer One-Run Loss at Minneapolis
The Vikings faced a stiff challenge from Washington pitcher Hawk Hartshorn, but persevered to claim a win at Minneapolis Grounds. The final score was 2-1. Hartshorn went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. The winner in relief was Andy Rooksberry. He is now 3-7. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. Phil Payne closed out the game, earning his 19th save.

David Elizalde came through for Minneapolis when he hit a run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh. With a runner on 3rd, he hit a two-strike fastball to right field, staking his team to a 2-1 lead.

"Tough loss," said Washington manager Josh Cooan. "But we'll learn from it."

The last-place Vikings are now 50-79, the Senators 54-75.
