Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Stars
The Los Angeles Stars picked up a win at Stars Ballpark, dropping the St. Louis Gaedels, 5-4, in 10 innings. Rin Sakai, who is tied for 4th in the WC in complete games with 1, was the difference-maker. Los Angeles reliever Brenden Jayson was the winner. His record is now 5-0. The losing pitcher was J.P. DeVore. Los Angeles improves to 78-51 with the win. They lead their division by 6½ games.

The Stars got a clutch hit from right fielder Chris Brankin. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Stars.

"Walking a team off at the end -- there's no greater feeling," said Brankin.
