The Washington Senators received a sterling performance from starting pitcher Rajam Masrani, allowing them to shoot down the Los Angeles Stars, 3-1. Julio Mendoza earned the save for Washington, his 26th. Washington is now 47-82, while Los Angeles is 58-71.
Masrani, the winning pitcher, raised his record to 5-5. In 8 innings of work, Masrani gave up 1 run on 3 hits, while racking up 7 Ks. He kept the Stars punchless, offensively.
