Gaedels Handed 5-3 Loss by Los Angeles
|
The Los Angeles Stars besoiled an otherwise fine performance by St. Louis first baseman Manny Sagastisado by beating the Gaedels, 5-3, at Stars Ballpark. Sagastisado was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The save went to Raiko Leon, number 10 for him. The Stars sit in third place in the Western Conference Mike Stump Division with a record of 58-70.
Los Angeles took control in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and a runner on 3rd, Marty Avalos hit a run-scoring single to make it 4-3, Stars.
"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Avalos told the Los Angeles Gazette.
