Thaxton Lifts Arrows to 11-7 Triumph
|
Seattle third baseman Tim Thaxton was instrumental in helping the Arrows triumph, 11-7, over the Tucson Toros. Thaxton went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. The last-place Arrows improved to 59-69.
Al Guzman had a big bases-clearing double for the Arrows in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Seattle leading 8-7 and the bases loaded, he got a sinker from 23-year old left-handed pitcher Antonio Raygoza and swatted a double to left. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Arrows ahead, 11-7.
"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Guzman.
