Cyclones Absorb 3-2 Home Loss
|
The Portland (E) Lobster beat the Miami Cyclones by a score of 3-2. Portland (E) designated hitter Matthew Hinojosa deserved the lion's share of the credit. Hinojosa went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Lobster. Gerald Blackman, the winning pitcher, is now 6-11. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 7 hits, while fanning 0 and walking 2. The victory puts Portland (E) at 50-77.
The game turned with no one out in the top of the fourth. That's when Hinojosa hit a 3-run home run off Elza Ficquelmont. It propelled the Lobster into the lead, 3-0.
After the game, Portland (E) manager Matthew McExpos applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
