Kings Nip Vikings, 7-6
|
Ian Sabre did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Minneapolis Vikings from losing, 7-6, to the Baltimore Kings at Minneapolis Grounds. Sabre was 3 for 6 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Robert Kamp picked up the save, his 2nd. Baltimore goes to 57-71, Minneapolis to 58-69.
The most important at-bat for Baltimore came in the top of the 11th inning, when shortstop Koufuu Tabata stroked a 0-2 fastball to right for a run-scoring single, putting Baltimore up, 7-6.
"We had a chance to win," said Minneapolis manager Ace Cooan, "but we didn't get it done."
