Greens Come Back Late to Top Dragons, 7-4
|
Portland got a decent performance from pitcher Marco Buenrostro, but it wasn't enough to beat the Boston Greens. Boston won the Portland Park contest, 7-4. Buenrostro threw 7.2 innings allowing 3 runs for the losing team. Boston reliever Bob Mullins picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Juan Casanas was tagged with the loss. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Boston.
Boston used the timely hitting of Nestor Pena to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Greens on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Winning never gets dull," said Pena.
