Victory Takes Greens to 71-55
|
Havana third baseman Walt Vidito had a good game, even if his team did not. The Metropolitanos dropped a 6-3 decision to Boston at Arrington Park. Vidito went 3-4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Adam Mimnaugh earned the save for Boston, his 25th of the year. The first-place Greens improved to 71-55.
The Greens took the lead in the bottom of the fifth when Luis Torrecilla banged a two-out single. Boston had been trailing 3-2, but Torrecilla hit a 1-1 fastball from Logan Meyers for a 2-run single.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Torrecilla told the Boston Daily. "You win just by scoring more runs."
