The home crowd had a good time watching the Denver Glaciers and Vancouver Wolves get after it.

Behind a solid performance from third baseman Yenier Arruebarrena, the Vancouver Wolves defeated the Denver Glaciers, 8-2. Arruebarrena was 4-4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Wolves. Raul Garibaldi, the winning pitcher, improved to 12-7. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 4 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 11 and walking 2.

Spencer Goldsmith had a big run-scoring double for the Wolves in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Vancouver leading 2-1 and a runner on 2nd, he got a curveball from Tetsukazu Kaneda, who led the WC in wins with 20 last year, and swatted a double to center. It was his 11th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Wolves ahead, 3-1.

"We didn't help ourselves, it's as simple as that," said losing manager Todd Bleess.

Vancouver now has a record of 64-64 with the win.
