Twins Handed 9-1 Loss by Kansas City

Kansas City took on Cincinnati in front of a lively crowd.
The 3-RBI night of center fielder D.J. Trigg, who finished 5th in the WC in on-base percentage with .383 in 2079, helped the Kansas City Athletics triumph, 9-1, over the Cincinnati Twins. Alex Laso, who finished 5th in the EC in wins with 15 in 2081, was the winning pitcher. Over 5.1 innings, he allowed 1 run on 4 hits, with no walks and 4 strikeouts.
With Kansas City leading 5-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Trigg came up to bat against Cincinnati pitcher David Prentice. Trigg hit a screwball to right for a 3-run home run. His 8th home run of the season put the Athletics on top, 8-0.
"I think it just wasn't our night," said Cincinnati skipper Ryan Stoops.
Kansas City now sits at 74-53, while Cincinnati falls to 65-63.
