Santiago pitcher Julius Miller had a large part in his team subduing the Maine Lobster, 3-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. With the win, Santiago upped its record to 72-54.

Had Brandon Nofziger not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Nofziger hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Avispas.

"The bar for us is not a particular opponent, it's ourselves," said Santiago manager Jacob Pauly.
