Wolves Drop Kodiaks, 4-3

The Vancouver Wolves did just enough to sneak past the Alaska Kodiaks, 4-3, at Fox-Chong Park. Vancouver pitcher Vito Pels, in particular, had a standout performance. The winner was Pels. He threw 5.0 innings allowing 3 runs. The loser was Savino Dore. Cody Goings sewed up the save, his 4th.
Tony Bosques had a big 3-run home run for the Wolves in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Vancouver leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from Savino Dore, who is tied for 8th in the WC with a 3.48 ERA, and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Wolves on top, 4-0.
"I found a nice groove out there," said Pels.
Vancouver occupies last place in the Western Conference Felipe Solorzo Division at 55-72.
