Aces Squelch Destroyers Offense in Shutout Win
The Las Vegas Aces beat the San Diego Destroyers, 4-0, at Western Coliseum. Starting pitcher Pierre Prent was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. The winning pitcher was Prent, now 6-7. He tossed 5 innings of 1-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 8. The triumph puts Las Vegas at 72-55 for the season.

Alex Jaurequi had a big solo home run for the Aces in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Las Vegas leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from former first round draft pick Masaru Uno and punished it. The result was his 23rd home run of the season, which put the Aces on top, 2-0.

"Pierre was the difference maker. He was emotionally under control, had good stuff and makeup," said Las Vegas manager Justin Coroian.
