The San Francisco Friars and Portland Dragons were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

Shigenobu Shimamoto made an impact in the 10-7 Portland win over San Francisco. Shimamoto, who led the WC in home runs with 48 in 2073, was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Leonardo Merejo, now 3-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. Willie Bravo recorded his 20th save for Portland.

In the top of the seventh, Shimamoto put his team in front with his 38th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which came against Danny Umana, made it 8-7, Portland.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Shimamoto said after the game.

Portland now sits at 79-48, while San Francisco falls to 69-58.
