Havana Falters Again, Loses, 3-0, to Brooklyn
|
In a low-scoring affair between Brooklyn Browns and the Havana Metropolitanos, pitcher Vince Tozier was the difference-maker. The Brooklyn right-hander handcuffed the opposition, to help his team pocket a 3-0 win. Joe Valentino, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. Brooklyn occupies third place in the Eastern Conference Paul Pagac Division at 69-56.
Brooklyn took control in the bottom of the seventh. With no one out and the bases loaded, Jack Bird hit a run-scoring single to make it 1-0, Browns.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Bird, "and then get after it again."
