Testaverde Lifts Aces to 7-1 Triumph
The Las Vegas Aces defeated the Baltimore Kings, 7-1, at Western Coliseum. Las Vegas designated hitter Jacob Testaverde had a superb performance. He went 2 for 2 with a home run and 3 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The winner was R.J. Mendenhall, who threw 81 pitches over 6.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with 1 run on 3 hits. The third-place Kings have dropped 4 straight games.

Las Vegas second baseman Lanny Tabares contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 75th hit of the season and put the Aces ahead, 3-1.

"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Testaverde told the Las Vegas Chronicle.
