Twins left fielder Alex Sierra left his imprint on his team's 9-2 win over the Kansas City Athletics. Sierra went 2 for 4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 and driving in 6 for Cincinnati in the contest. Avery Slade recorded the save for Cincinnati, his 13th of the season. Cincinnati has now won 7 games in a row.

In the top of the eighth, the Twins grabbed the lead when Sierra hit his 24th home run of the season. The grand slam home run off Marco Moya made it 5-1, Cincinnati.
