Minneapolis got a first-rate effort from pitcher Ivan Hinojos, who frustrated Cincinnati hitters en route to a 2-1 Vikings triumph at Cincinnati Grounds. Cincinnati has now lost 4 consecutive games.
Minneapolis used the timely hitting of John Erickson to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Vikings on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Erickson called the win "what playing unselfish baseball looks like."
