Late Offense Lifts Tucson to 2-0 Victory
|
In a tight game between the Washington Senators and the Tucson Toros, nobody was more important for the winners than Solano Antas. Antas was masterful in the 2-0 win. Ignacio Noriega, who is tied for 2nd in the WC in saves with 24, nailed down the save. The third-place Toros lifted their record to 56-68.
Had Antas not come through in the top of the eighth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Antas hit a run-scoring single. The Toros took the lead, 1-0, and never looked back.
"We're not exactly playing great right now," said Josh Cooan, the Washington manager.
