Buffalo catcher Merlin Garbie had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 4-3, to Miami at Bison Stadium. Garbie went 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times. Picking up the win was Matt Pinette. He went 5 innings, allowing 1 run on 6 hits. The right--hander struck out 3 and walked 2. The last-place Cyclones sport a record of 50-74.
Miami used a well-timed hit by Henry McAfee to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Cyclones ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
