The Cincinnati Twins claimed a close win over the Minneapolis Vikings, due in large part to Edwin Vazquez. The Cincinnati right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-0 win. Vazquez, the winner, moves to 12-7. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 3 walks.

Luis Zatarain, who is tied for 10th in the EC with a .504 slugging percentage, came through for Cincinnati with a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth. The shortstop went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 1 run batted in.
