Toros Knock Off Kings, 4-2
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Tucson Toros got the win.
Tucson Toros starter Feng Shuai pitched his team past the Baltimore Kings, 4-2. The winning pitcher was Shuai, now 3-8. He tossed 5.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 6.
Tucson relied on the hitting of Raul Aviles to pick up the win. The center fielder ripped a 2-run triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Toros on top, 4-1. For the game, Aviles had 1 triple and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Feng knows how to get ahead of hitters, stay ahead of hitters, and put people out," said Tucson manager Rick Barnes.
The Toros, at 51-71, sit in 4th place in the Western Conference Mike Stump Division.
