Aces Squeeze By Portland, 2-1

The Aces earned a hard-fought, 2-1 win in 10 innings at Portland Park. To do so required withstanding a fine effort from Portland pitcher Taxi Sabala. Sabala went 6 innings and allowed no runs. Las Vegas pitcher Roberto Banda earned the win, hiking his record to 2-0. Takuma Takahashi suffered the loss. J.P. McNealy earned the save, his 13th.
Alonzo Alfonso came through with a big-time hit for Las Vegas. The shortstop smacked a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"The game of baseball will test you," said Justin Coroian, the Las Vegas skipper. "This one tested us."
The Aces saw their record improve to 62-61.
