Nelligan goes 3-for-3 to Fuel Metropolitanos Offense
|
A good performance from catcher Paul Nelligan helped the Havana Metropolitanos defeat the Santiago Avispas, 6-2. Nelligan went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Metropolitanos. Havana is 59-63 and Santiago, with the loss, 47-74.
In the bottom of the third inning, the Metropolitanos grabbed the lead when Xadreque Esperana rapped a two-out single. Havana was trailing 1-0, when Esperana hit a 2-run single off Ricky Czaikowski to put his team in front, 2-1.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Nelligan.
