Rangers Reel In 3-0 Win
|
At Bison Stadium, the Santiago Avispas and Buffalo Rangers were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
In a tight game between the Buffalo Rangers and the Santiago Avispas, pitcher Mike Blain was terrific on the mound. The Buffalo right-hander helped his team to the 3-0 win. Blain yielded no runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 7-7. Dan Shelton picked up his 4th save of the season.
Bejo Ananas had a big run-scoring double for the Rangers in the bottom of the third inning. With Buffalo leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a changeup from Julius Miller, who is tied for 2nd in the EC in innings pitched with 166.0, and swatted a double to center. It was his 38th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rangers ahead, 2-0.
"We didn't score," said losing manager Jacob Pauly. "That was the problem."
After today's action, Buffalo sits at 65-55, while Santiago falls to 67-54.
