Vikings Win at New York, 2-1
|
New York got a valiant performance from pitcher Nick Tamulevich, but it wasn't enough to beat the Minneapolis Vikings. Minneapolis won the game, 2-1. Tamulevich threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Devon Jenkins, the winner, improved to 8-9. He held the Titans to 1 run on 6 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 1 and walking 4. Phil Payne locked down his 29th save.
Minneapolis used the hitting of Sebastian Bush to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Vikings on top, 2-0. For the game, Bush had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Bush.
The first-place Titans dropped to 83-37.
