Browns Upend Rangers, 5-3
|
The Brooklyn Browns picked up a win at Bison Stadium, knocking off the Buffalo Rangers, 5-3. Starting pitcher Keaton Bozek played a key role in the triumph. Bozek yielded 1 run over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 10-5. Brooklyn has now won 6 straight, while the Rangers have lost 3 in a row.
Luis Basurto had a big 2-run home run for the Browns in the top of the sixth inning. With Brooklyn leading 3-1 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a fastball from Vismay Falcon, who is a two-time All-Star, and punished it. The result was his 15th home run of the season, which put the Browns on top, 5-1.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Brooklyn manager Jason Cormier.
