Despite a great performance by Portland left fielder Shigenobu Shimamoto, the Vancouver Wolves defeated the Dragons by the score of 8-5 at Portland Park. Shimamoto went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 times. The 4th-place Dragons now sit at 57-64.

Right Fielder Alex Alcaraz made an impact for Vancouver, when he swatted a run-scoring triple off Eliecer Cervantes in the top of the fifth. For the contest, Alcaraz went 2-4 with a triple and a double, while scoring 2.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Alcaraz. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
