Riding the 4-hit performance of the former first round draft pick Billy Morf, the Phoenix Thunderbirds defeated the San Francisco Friars, 8-1. The Thunderbirds are now 17-20.

Alex Pedraja had a big 2-run home run for the Thunderbirds in the top of the third inning. With Phoenix leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a splitter from Lyalya Markosiants, who won the Rookie of the Year Award in 2077, and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Thunderbirds on top, 3-0.

Phoenix manager Joe Busch said, "I thought we played well in all phases."
