Athletics Get One-Run Win at Las Vegas
|
The Kansas City Athletics picked up a win at Western Coliseum, knocking off the Las Vegas Aces, 5-4. On the mound for Kansas City was right-hander Arturo Covarrubias. He played a key role in the triumph. The Athletics bumped their record to 24-13 with this latest triumph.
Kansas City used the hitting of D.J. Trigg to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Athletics on top, 5-0. For the game, Trigg had 1 home run and 1 single in 2 at-bats.
"Arturo was the difference maker. He was emotionally under control, had good stuff and makeup," said Kansas City manager Joe Monagle.
