Aquas Keep Clicking, Win, 5-4
|
In a tight contest at Power Ballpark, the Houston Aquas edged the Seattle Arrows by the score of 5-4. Houston catcher Shane Ausmus, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. Earning the save was Danny Mathews. He's now cashed in 3 of 5 save opportunities. Houston improves to 76-45 with the win. They lead their division by 12½ games.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Al Anzaldua? The 29-year old second baseman Anzaldua stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put Houston up, 5-4. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Houston manager Brandon Coroian.
