Kings Capture Close Win
|
The Baltimore Kings weathered a fine game by Philadelphia right fielder Lucas Pamatz to upend the Spectres, 6-5, at AT&T Park. Pamatz went 1-3 with 3 walks, while scoring 3 runs. Baltimore reliever Andy Mejia picked up the win to move to 1-0. Scott Franczak suffered the loss. The Kings, at 20-17, sit in third place in the Eastern Conference Willis Briceno Division.
Baltimore got a knockout punch from Ko Kuroda. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"It's great when the crowd is energized," Kuroda said.
