Phantoms Collect 8-3 Win Over Destroyers
The Chicago Phantoms picked up a win at Seaward Stadium, taking down the San Diego Destroyers, 8-3, in 10 innings. On the mound for Chicago was left-hander Juzo Matsumoto. He played a central role in the triumph. At 63-57, the Phantoms find themselves in second place in the Western Conference Felipe Solorzo Division.

The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Jose Buezo came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing San Diego pitcher Matt Kloser, he hit a 2-0 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Chicago on top, 4-3.

In postgame remarks, Matsumoto simply said: "Here's to a great win!"
