Gu Shines in 9-2 Washington Win
|
The Washington Senators thumped the Philadelphia Spectres, 9-2, at The ESPN Zone. Zheng-ze Gu was a big reason his team got the win. Gu went 1-1 with a home run and 4 walks, while scoring 3 and driving in 3. Kelly Lazell sewed up the save, his 1st. Washington is now 44-75.
Alex Tejeda drew 2 walks in 5 plate appearances. He scored 2 times for Washington. The slugging left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Bruce Roque. It was his 67th RBI of the season.
"We need to keep playing good baseball," Gu told the Washington Observer.
