Buffalo pitcher Pablo Alvarez had a large part in his team beating the Cincinnati Twins, 5-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The winning pitcher was Alvarez, now 2-1. He tossed 5.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 9. The Rangers now have a record of 63-55.

Matty Hrinko dealt the Twins a blow in the top of the sixth. Batting with the bases loaded and Buffalo leading 1-0, Hrinko, who finished 4th in the EC in runs with 103 in 2077, hit a full count fastball for a 2-run single.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Buffalo manager Alex Beckman. "It's usually not just one thing."
