Los Angeles Gets 2-1 Win Versus Santiago in 10
|
There was no shortage of dramatics at Stars Ballpark.
Los Angeles turned a fine outing from starter Mike Merdinger into a victory over the Santiago Avispas at Stars Ballpark. The final score was 2-1 in 10 innings. Ricky Minjarez, now 5-4, was credited with the win in 0.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 0 and walking 0.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Los Angeles first baseman Lyndon Lance, facing Victor Cacho, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Stars the 2-1 win.
"This game tested our mettle," said Merdinger.
Los Angeles improves to 67-53 with the win. They lead their division by 11 games.
