Jared Bruner could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Seattle Arrows lost, dropping a 3-2 decision to the Santiago Avispas at Power Ballpark. Brian Evanko earned the save for Santiago, his 2nd. Santiago, at 46-72, sits in last place in the Eastern Conference Antonio Detorres Division.
Santiago used a timely hit from Paul Rees to get the win. The left fielder stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Avispas ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a difference-maker.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Seattle manager Dr. Jay Siber. "The effort was great."
