Baltimore pitcher Cruz Vaquez had a large part in his team beating the Havana Metropolitanos, 5-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The Kings go to 60-58, putting them second in the Eastern Conference Zounes Kamuzu Division.
The Kings got a big at-bat from first baseman Harold Wicks. For the game, Wicks went 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 36th double of the season gave Baltimore a 3-1 lead.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Vaquez.
