Kings Fall to Lobster Late

The Portland (E) Lobster knocked off the Baltimore Kings, 8-4, at AT&T Park. Rich Bice was a big reason Portland (E) won. The second baseman was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Portland (E) reliever John Colon picked up the win, upping his record to 7-5. Andy Mejia was saddled with the loss. Portland (E) is now 52-67, Baltimore 59-59.
Had Matthew Hinojosa not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Hinojosa hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Lobster.
Hinojosa called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
