Angels Bang Out 9-6 Win Versus Phoenix
The San Antonio Angels beat the Phoenix Thunderbirds, 9-6, at Tesoro Stadium. Kamaluhaiakapu Kahakuokahale, who finished 2nd in the WC in home runs with 46 last year, starred for San Antonio. He went 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Ron Trevathan notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. His record now sits at 2-14. The win gives the Angels a record of 39-79.

Kahakuokahale had an important at-bat with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the bottom of the seventh, when he hit a 2-run single. The Angels went on to win.

"We came out with clear minds and swung the bats well," said San Antonio manager Brandon Coroian.
