Senators Get Hard-Earned Win
The Philadelphia Spectres got a sterling performance from pitcher Anton Rochambeau, but the Washington Senators still prevailed, 4-3. Rochambeau threw 6.2 innings allowing 2 runs. Julio Mendoza earned his 23rd save, after closing out the game. Washington is now 42-75.

Had Takeshi Esaki not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Esaki hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Senators.

"Winning is hard sometimes," said Senators manager Josh Cooan. "This one was nice to get."
