Montreal got a terrific performance from pitcher Stuart Stephenson, but it wasn't enough to beat the Minneapolis Vikings. Minneapolis won the Minneapolis Grounds contest, 3-2. Stephenson threw 7.1 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Orlando Ortozco notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. His record now sits at 3-2. The third-place Vikings are 49-68.

The decisive blow was delivered by Hector Abarca in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 27-year old right-handed pitcher Fish Rablood to win the game for Minneapolis. The home crowd went nuts.

"This house was rockin'," Abarca said.
